Home Learning 2014
 Reading:
What you should be doing...
Reading for at least 15mins each night. Remember, the more reading you do the greater the benefits for you.
You should then be logging on and tracking your reading on our online Reading Log - Biblionasium. It is very important that you track what you read and for how long. Doing so should not take you too long.

What should I be reading?
You should be reading books that not only interest you, but also challenge you. Reading a variety of material is also a good way of growing as a reader. For example, magazines, chapter books, picture books, the newspaper etc. Make sure when you visit our school library that you look carefully at what books it has to offer. Read something new!

Mathletics:
What you should be doing...

You are expected to visit Mathletics at least 3 times a week, more if you can. Your target should be to aim for at least a 1000 or more points each week.

Learning Blogs:

Each student now has a learning blog to reflect on their learning. Whilst doing this at home is not part of our Home Learning programme, it is an option students can choose to take up.

Please encourage your child to complete their home learning.

Reading:
What you should be doing...
Reading for at least 15mins each night as well as on the weekend if you choose to. Remember, the more reading you do the greater the benefits for you.

Record your reading in your reading log each time you read. Remember, the date, book title and a short comment about what you have read that night.

Parents please initial reading logs from time to time.

I will monitor reading in your reading logs and celebrate your reading milestones e.g. reaching 25, 50, 75 etc. nights of reading.

Mathletics:
What you should be doing...
This replaces the numeracy passport system.

You are expected to visit Mathletics at least 3 times a week, more if you can. Your target should be to aim for a 1000 points or more each week.

Home Learning Books/Reading Logs:
Home learning books/reading logs need to be taken home daily and brought back to school each Friday, unless you are on a reading log contract where your home learning book/reading log must be at school each day.

Home learning books/reading logs live in the yellow home learning container by Miss B’s desk.

Please encourage your child to complete their home learning.
