Pet Parade 2014

On Friday 19 September our school had a mufti day as a fundraiser to raise money for the SPCA. Students got to dress up in their favourite animals. Inspired by the fundraiser, the students also had the opportunity to bring their much loved pets to school for our Pet Day. Pets ranged from ponies and lambs to cats, dogs rabbits and even a fish or two. We even had a special guest animal turn up for our pet parade. Check out our photos and see if you can spot our special guest!
We also had a best dressed animal competition where the students got to show off their costumes. Each class also nominated two students who they thought were best dressed to enter this  competition. Taylah and Charlotte were nominated by Room 4. Our special guest was Geronimo Stilton. This also concluded our Writing Week.

Preparing For Our Jubilee Mural

This year Oaklands will celebrate its 50th Jubilee. In celebrating this milestone we are designing and painting a mural that showcases just how far we have come in 50 years. In preparing for this mural, Room 4 had the task of sealing the boards. It was a big job, but everyone enjoyed the opportunity to work together on a school community project.

Cultural Festival 2014

This year our Kapa Haka students have been busy practicing and preparing for this year's Cultural Festival at Horncastle Arena. Their hard work, commitment and time saw them present a polished and absolutely outstanding performance. Congratulations Taylah, Charlotte, Phoebe, Candice and Alissa on a performance you can be real proud of.
